Day 4: Dirty business

Thursday morning was the last day of the conference and most of the time was spent in ministry as various people were prayed for after sharing.  I was struggling with my nerves a bit throughout the morning as my consultation with the dentist the day before had me scheduled for some major work in the afternoon.  So after lunch, I was escorted to the Cay by the team leaders with one other girl.  I was dreading the visit because every time I've ever had work done at the dentist's office, even just a simple cleaning, my jaw would end up hurting for days afterwards because my mouth is really small and it was always painful to keep it open long enough for work to get done.  After Dr. Jill had been working on me for a little bit, she stopped to get more tools and noticed I pulled the suction out to close my mouth.  When I told her about the issue with my jaw, she finished what she was doing and then got me a muscle relaxer which helped so much.  Unfortunately, she needed to have me come back the next morning since she had two other patients waiting and still had a bit of work to do on me.  By the time she finished with my friend, we had missed the ferry back to Savannah Bight and had to hire a water taxi to take us home in the dark, but it was an awesome ride as the sky was absolutely beautiful the whole way!!!  When we got back, the prayer room was already getting started for the last night so we ate a quick dinner in the kitchen before joining in.

Day 3: The Cay

Wednesday was the second day of the conference and the ministry time was really good!  After lunch, a friend and I went with a couple others on the team to Banacca Cay.  Ms. Lily had asked us to come meet and pray for her 3 year old granddaughter.  We were all scheduled to go to the Cay at some point for a consultation with a great dentist.  While waiting for her to arrive, I got to see a familiar face that I had hoped to run into.  After our initial assessment with the dentist, we left the others to go visit with Ms. Lily and Daniely.  Her granddaughter was born premature and the incubation necessary for her as an infant resulted in blindness.  We enjoyed our time with them in Ms. Lily's restaurant as well as walking around the Cay and we were able to pray for this beautiful little girl before heading back to Savannah for dinner and the prayer room.  That night the kids pulled the team members aside and prayed for us which was pretty incredible!

Day 2: Let Freedom Ring

On Tuesday morning, we started the "Free to Love, Free to Serve" conference for pastors and leaders from various churches in Savannah Bight and Banacca Cay.  It was a great morning.  Some of the people joined us for lunch and I got to visit with Ms. Lily from the Cay who I knew from my previous trips!  After lunch we had some time to rest and I enjoyed a great nap before going to hang out at the Nelms house for a bit.  The prayer room that night was really good and we found out that a few people had been healed during our time of intercession the night before!  I spent a lot of time at the windows enjoying the breeze and the sound of the waves outside.  There is a great view out every window and the stars are incredible at night!

Day 1: Travel to Guanaja, Honduras

Our team of 9 arrived in shifts with my group arriving last on Monday, August 9 late in the afternoon.  There were 5 of us that left for the airport about 4:30am for our 7:30am flight.  After getting to our gate the guys went to check on the status of our flight since no one else was there and we ended up getting on an earlier flight.  While waiting in the Houston airport we ran into a friend we haven't seen in a long time and got to pray for him.  Our layover in Roatan was an hour longer than scheduled, but it got us on a direct flight to Guanaja on the little bitty puddle-jumper.  It was my first time on a little plane and I loved it!!!  The Miss May I (the ferry from the Cay to Savannah Bight) was leaving as we arrived with the rest of the team on board but they stopped to pick us up.  We got into our rooms, had dinner and opened the prayer room.  It was a great day, but exhausting!
